The Rendez-vous aux jardins are blooming again in Paris and Île-de-France for the weekend of June 5–7, 2026. Families, curious visitors and botany enthusiasts can use this cultural, bucolic gathering to rediscover private as well as public green spaces across the Paris region through a program of special activities, often free.
In Argenteuil, the Municipal Horticultural Center invites you this weekend to greet the start of summer. The town carries a long history of hillside crops—vineyards, figs, asparagus—that continues to shape its identity, even before its urban and industrial expansion. In the 18th century, Argenteuil was known for its vineyards, touted by the city as among the region’s most productive per hectare.
The Horticultural Centre continues today to deepen its link with the plant world. Argenteuil is among the Île-de-France towns that still operate a municipal horticultural centre, whose duties include growing a portion of the plants used in the municipality’s green spaces. The site also hosts educational gardens, designed to raise awareness in both children and adults about plants, the seasons, gardening practices, and biodiversity.
The site also houses municipal greenhouses, an educational garden, and an apiary established in 2013. These elements make the area a technical, living, and accessible space where visitors can better understand the behind-the-scenes work that keeps the city blooming, maintains the plantings, and preserves a green urban landscape.
