Paris's luxurious 8th arrondissement is home to some of the capital's most iconic spots. Sung about by Joe Dassin, the Champs-Elysées avenue is considered one of the most beautiful in the world, offering a sublime view of l'Arc de Triomphe. All along the way, we pass flagships that take advantage of the international influence of this historic thoroughfare. At its foot, the Place de la Concorde, with its view of the Seine and the Eiffel Tower , transports us into a scene worthy of a fine film, and it's from here that we admire the capital's oldest monument, theLuxor Obelisk, as well as two sublime twin buildings: theHôtel de Crillon, a legendary Parisian palace, and theHôtel de la Marine. Between the two, you can already make out theÉglise de la Madeleine, which marks the transition to the 9tharrondissement.
The 8th arrondissement is known as the home of the Parisian Golden Triangle, and it's here that the most luxurious addresses are to be found. AlongAvenue Montaigne and Faubourg Saint-Honoré, top brands share the limelight to the delight of fashion enthusiasts. The 8th arrondissement is also home to a number of museums dedicated to haute couture, housed in the historic addresses of major fashion houses, including Yves-Saint Laurent and Dior.
The district also boasts a sublime heritage, including the Grand and Petit Palais, inherited from the 1897 and 1900 world's fairs respectively. This is also where you'll find a number of legendary palaces and grand hotels, including the Plaza Athénée and the George V. Along the Seine, you can admire some of themost beautiful bridges in Paris, including the Pont Alexandre III, while on theAlma side of the river, Parisians of one day and all times regularly gather in front of the Flame of Liberty and pay tribute to Lady Diana at the foot of the monument.
