Azur Café is the name of this new café-restaurant on rue de Ponthieu, a stone's throw from the Champs-Elysées. It's a great place to sit down at any time of day to enjoy a Mediterranean menu created by Michelin-starred chef Romain le Cordroch.

Once through the door, you discover a coffee shop with a southern accent. White walls, azure-blue earthenware and stone cladding for a warm feel. Opposite us, the bar counter welcomes us with an array of cakes and pastries to enjoy throughout the day, accompanied by fresh, healthy juices made to order.

Whether you're looking for a healthy plant-based hot drink or a worked juice, the café has something to tempt you. For our part, we opt for chai latte, matcha latte andAmber, a juice made with carrots, ginger, pineapple and turmeric.

On our visit, we were treated to a perfect egg on a bed of mushrooms with hazelnut oil and coffee juice. A surprisingly creamy combination.

We were also seduced by the mauve eggplant confit au four, feta cream and muscat grapes glazed with petemezi.

If you're a vegetarian, this is the place for you. A good example is this burger with root vegetable patty. Topped with a date and tamarind sauce and sliced red cabbage in a level sauce, this dish is sure to surprise.

As a dessert, brunch or snack, pancakes are a welcome addition. We fell for the crisp, melt-in-the-mouth apple pastilla, baked in the oven and topped with cardamom, salted butter caramel and candied kumquats.
