Lovers of Aveyron flavors, and in particularaligot-saucisse, are in for a treat. On June 24 and 25, 2023, the Mont-Aveyron 2023 event takes to the heights of Montmartre, on the Place des Abbesses. A whole weekend dedicated to the best of Aveyron, with no fewer than 25 producers on hand to present (and, above all, let you taste) their regional products: aligot-saucisse, farçous, fouace, Laguiole cheese, Roquefort, and Aubrac meats are on the menu!
And what would a good aligot be without...its long strands of cheese! The first world cup for the longest aligot thread will be held during Mont-Aveyron 2023, under the patronage of street-artist Jo Di Bona! A not-to-be-missed event for lovers of string cheese!
The same street-artist will also be in the spotlight on Sunday June 25, with a 10 a.m. Live-Art performance paying tribute to Aveyron's most famous painter, Pierre Soulages. Other events include a special Aveyron apron parade by Zézette by Montmartre, a tribute to Michou, and a Sunday mass in the church of Saint Jean de Montmartre by the Bourrée Montagnarde.
Music-wise, folk groups La Bourrée Montagnarde and Pastres Pastretos will liven up the streets and Place des Abbesses, while pop-rock band La Déryves will close the event with 2 concerts and a giant Occitan 'Se Canto'!
