If you're looking for a magical evening, we've got something to tempt you. From May 7 to July 30, 2025, the Parc de Bagatelle will play host to Le Melville, the famous Parisian jazz club. But it's not just amusical evening that awaits you, as the house offers exceptional dinners set against the backdrop of the Château de Bagatelle.
The setting is enchanting: the Jardins de Bagatelle, nestling just a stone's throw from the Bois de Boulogne, are the setting for this rendezvous that combines music and refined pleasure under the stars. Le Melville, by leaving its walls, gives life to an original project where conviviality is at the heart of the experience. Let yourself be carried away by the chords of jazz, served with the delicacy of a finely orchestrated dinner, in an atmosphere that only summer evenings know how to offer.
We tried it out, and it's clear that we had an excellent time. Lively music, making some of our guests dance, dishes that seduced us, from starter to dessert, and a decor like nowhere else. What a great way to experience a sunset set to jazz!
Conceived as a sensory escapade, the menu opens with a subtle vegetable dish: creamy labneh rubs shoulders with fine, melt-in-the-mouth Chinese eggplant, enhanced by a touch of miso. A gentle, contrasting starter. The main course celebrates childhood memories with Mom's chicken, sublimated by a marjoram poultry jus and an intense black curry. In the vegetarian version, cauliflower plays the spice game to perfection.
The surprise continues with a lively, tangy salmon ceviche, married with passion fruit letche, crunchy pickles and a thin slice of dried bonito. A vegetal alternative to tomato ceviche reveals its freshness. For dessert, the Melville millefeuille closes the journey with a Dulcey ganache, peanut praline and a crunchy touch of caramelized peanuts. A gourmet finish to a delicious meal.
The program is in keeping with the Melville's identity: a selection ofrenowned artists and young talents, in a spirit of sharing faithful to the heritage of Parisian jazz clubs. Guests include Lisa Spada, Ellen Birath, Matthieu Boré, Victor Demange, Coco Canela and Square Noon. Each concert evokes a color, an era or a mood: swing of the Roaring Twenties, accents of the Great American Song Book, Cuban winks or hard-bop flights of fancy.
In the kitchen, Malcom Ecolasse, an inspired young chef, orchestrates the plates. His menu, designed especially for Jazz à Bagatelle, combines Latin, Asian and Tunisian flavors in a daring gastronomic score. His dishes celebrate seasonal produce and world spices, in a spirit of openness that resonates with the musicians' improvisations. Every gesture, in the kitchen as on stage, is conceived as a note, to offer an experience without false notes.
The project is the brainchild of Sébastien and Laurent, two passionate jazz enthusiasts. Sébastien, a business lawyer, has been dreaming since his teens of a vibrant jazz venue in the style of the Parisian clubs of the 60s. Laurent, a musician by training, journalist and producer, traversed the world of rock and jazz before turning his musical utopia into reality with Le Melville. Their aim: to recreate an atmosphere of sharing, where music, food and listening come together naturally.

This is an original and unusual outing that will appeal to epicureans who love good music and pretty flowers. Please note that in the event of bad weather, the evening may be cancelled. You will be informed by midday on the day of cancellation. A new date will then be proposed. If this date is not convenient for you, your deposit will be refunded in full.
In the evening, it can get quite chilly. So we strongly advise you to bring something to cover up with, even if blankets are provided. We were glad we'd packed a warm jacket when the sun went down. Finally, please note that the Parc de Bagatelle is a little far from public transport, so take the initiative to avoid the 20-minute walk in the middle of the night.
