Video game fans, you probably haven't missed Guerrilla Games' latest PS4 and PS5 release, Horizon Forbidden West. Wander around an incredible map and experience great adventures alongsideAloy... Hours and hours of pure enjoyment playing and rediscovering this fascinating universe. And once you've skimmed the surface of the game, it's time to get down to business with PlayStation's free immersive ephemeral restaurant, as part of its Live from PS5 campaign to celebrate the return of consoles to stores. Join us from February 9 to 11 to discover L'Horizon Restaurant, a stone's throw from Les Halles.
A totally revamped space,"between a nest of greenery and a futuristic setting", transporting you into an atmosphere in the image of the game, welcomed by Aloy and a life-size Galop-Griffe. For the duration of the event, reservations are not possible: first come, first served! A total of 60 covers will be served over two shifts, from 11:45 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and from 6:45 p.m. to midnight, for a menu that is kept secret. But the menu nonetheless offers a"culinary journey into the tribes of the game", with"dishes from different universes, for all tastes: fossilized eryngii, oversized crustaceans, drumsticks from the Forbidden West...".
The restaurant offers two rooms, each with a different atmosphere, as well as a number of activities: PS5 terminals, photoshoots... Your five senses will be on alert for a guaranteed immersion experience! An ephemeral restaurant that the editors had the opportunity to try out... In terms of décor, the immersion is there: the hall is fairly faithful to the universe, with its plants and life-size gallop-griffe, but the basement is even more so, with an immersion in the very heart of a tavern from the game. As night falls, the plants fluoresce, adding an extra touch of magic.
As for the menu, there's not a huge choice, which is just as well, because the quality is there! The dishes are carefully crafted, worthy of a mid-range bistro, with fine tastes and bewitching flavors. A special mention goes to the starters, which include hummus, tzatziki, artichoke cream with lemon and fig and olive tapenade, mixing sweet and savory. As for the main courses, we opted for the vegetarian option to share, featuring Eryngii (a Korean mushroom), oyster mushrooms, chanterelles and parsley sponge cake. It's a wonderful combination of tastes and textures, accompanied by a sponge cake with a touch of spice.
The side dishes included a potato galette and panisses with sage and chickpea flour. And for dessert, two pieces of giant eclairs, one sesame, the other chocolate, with its creamy creams! Special mention to the sesame éclair, particularly sweet overall, but with a pronounced sesame taste. In short, a good meal at a reasonable price, ideal for gourmets and gourmands!
And an opportunity to get away from the screen and experience video games in a different way. Shall we drop in, friends?
