And eighth star for Stéphane Manigold. After the Michelin-starred restaurants Granite, Substance, Braise, Contraste, Liquide, along with the Flaubert Bistro and the two-starred Maison Rostang— recently acquired from the Rostang family—the Parisian restaurateur is gearing up to unveil a brand new restaurant in line with the rentrée.
On August 29th, the curtains will rise on the debut of Hémicycle, the newest addition to the culinary scene located at 5 rue de Bourgogne, right in the heart of the stylish 7th arrondissement. If this address rings a bell, it’s because your gourmet radar is sharp. Indeed, this fresh venture from Manigold now occupies the space once inhabited by the renowned Loiseau Rive Gauche.
Starting anew after two years of renovations, the restaurateur unveils a space spread across three floors, with the centerpiece being a 32-seat restaurant located on the ground floor. In the spacious open kitchen, a duo experienced with Stéphane Manigold’s projects takes center stage: Flavio Lucarini, who previously worked at Le Gabriel, Passerini, and Bistrot Flaubert as head chef; and Aurora Storari, with experience from Mirazur and Le Clarence. Both collaborate both in the city and in the kitchen.
The duo delivers a gastronomic menu designed to satisfy Italian cravings. One takes charge of the savory dishes, the other of the sweet. Think: langoustines cooked under fig leaves, beluga lentil salad; risotto with watercress, squid, and black lemon; roasted sweetbreads with an olive and seaweed condiment; faisselle cheese, yellow tomato concentrate, and an array of shareable dishes. The meal concludes with a yellow wine baba — a dessert Aurora Storari once showcased at the Clarence. These delights are poised to become Paris’s next must-try culinary sensations.
Hémicycle also features a pastry bar on the first floor, along with a private lounge perfect for intimate dinners. Upstairs, on the second floor, there's a speakeasy-style cocktail bar reserved for restaurant guests and club members.
