At Margherita's, conviviality is the order of the day. As soon as you enter, you discover cooks who are available, close to their customers, revealing the secrets of their pizzas in their open kitchen: a storeroom reveals Margherita's treasures, cold cuts and cheeses straight from Italy, which are found in the boards, the pastas and the pizzas.
On the menu? Ricotta, bresaola, San Daniele 14 months, stracciatella (the most melting of the burrata) at 16€ for a board of 2 products or 30€ for a board of 4 products. Dishes like beef meatballs at 16€, osso buco at 17€ and 8 pasta recipes, including tartuffo pasta with black summer truffle, served for one person or in a casserole for 3 or 4 depending on appetite.
But the signature dish of the house is the pizza. The slogan "In Pizza We Trust" is proudly displayed in front of the 350°C ovens: we tasted the Mamma, a pizza with burrata, stewed red onions, eggplant, peppers, zucchini and N'duja, a typical Calabrian spicy sausage cream.
We then choose a quiet corner in the 800 square meters of the building: here, high chairs facing the pizza makers, there leather benches in a bistro style, in another corner, a closed dining room that can accommodate 8 people for a business meal and outside, sublime picnic tables to enjoy the food in the sun from the pedestrian street!
The warmest room in the restaurant is on the top floor, the KIDS' Kingdom. This room is composed of two lounges - industrial coffee table and club chairs / solid wood coffee table and velvet sofas -, a dining room for 8 people anda play area with Lego, Kapla and board games. On the wall, children's drawings suggest that children are welcome, that they are free to play and have fun, to laugh out loud without being scolded. Here, young parents can enjoy a good meal without fear of making a mess, and the children enjoy their menu, a small margherita pizza, a prosciutto funghi pizza or pasta, a scoop of ice cream and a fruit juice for 14.50€.
For a family meal, an aperitif with friends or a romantic dinner, Margherita is a must in Saint-Germain.
