The Michelin Guide 2024 awarded its Passion Dessert prize to 8 pastry chefs, this Monday, March 18, 2024. Among them, 2 Parisian chefs: Max Martin and Aurora Storari. Launched in 2019, the award recognizes the best pastry chefs in restaurants and palaces who create desserts as unforgettable as their main courses and starters.

While the Michelin Guide has been celebrating chefs for decades, it wasn't until 2019 that the famous red guide put the spotlight on sommeliers, pastry chefs and chefs de rang, who have just as much merit and are just as involved on a daily basis as chefs.

For the sixth year running, pastry chefs from restaurants and palaces have received an award, the Prix Passion Dessert 2024, initiated in partnership with Valrhona. In addition to taste, the criteria include the supplier's production conditions, the impact on consumer health, and respect for the seasons and the environment.

Last year, 8 pastry chefs were honored by the Michelin Guide, including 2 Parisian chefs(Pierre-Jean Quinonero at Le Baudelaire and Germain Decreton at Le Jules Verne).

In 2024, the Michelin Guide has once again chosen to reward 8 restaurant and palace pastry chefs for their creations and commitment, including 2 Parisian pastry chefs: Max Martin at Pré Catelan and Aurora Storari at Hémicycle.

The 6 other award-winning pastry chefs are : Pascal Hainigue at Auberge de l'Ill (Illhaeusern), Julieta Canavate at Ceto (Roquebrune-Cap-Martin), Pierre-Jean Quinonero, awarded for the 2nd year running, at Le Cap (Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat), Patrick Mesiano at Aux Ambassadeurs by Christophe Cussac (Monaco), Benoit Goulard at Mont Blanc Restaurant & Goûter (Hauteluce) and François Luciano at La Table du Castellet (Le Castellet).

There are now 58 pastry chefs to have been awarded the Passion Dessert prize. Let's make a reservation at one of these Paris restaurants to find out what all the fuss is about?
