After enchanting our Christmas and celebrating lovers on Valentine’s Day, George V hotel does it again and opens a new indulging pop-up store to celebrate Easter. And the least we can say is the palace knows how to make us fall back to childhood!
From April 1 to 5, 2021, the legendary hotel set a stone’s throw from the world’s most beautiful avenue expects us for 1, 2, 3 Chocolat, the ultra-regressive counter making sweet-toothed foodies super happy. Here, discover pastry chef Michael Bartocetti’s Easter creations. Considered yourselves warned: they are irresistible.
On the menu, not one, not two, not even three, but four versions of the traditional Easter egg Michael Bartocetti’s style. Let us start with the star of the pop-up: a signature egg with an elegant design based on 65% Venezuelan dark chocolate filled with Piedmont hazelnut praline and salted butter caramel. Yummy!
There is also the flaky brioche egg displaying Michael Bartocetti’s signature curls. Behind the puff pastry hides a delicious roasted vanilla flavor enhancing chocolate ganache. A very moist marble egg expects you at the pop-up as well, making us fall back to childhood: dark chocolate and Tahitian vanilla, this uncommon cake is covered in gianduja and a layer of chocolate for even more indulgence.
There are also the Kids oeufs eggs, a collection created for children and grown-up children based on 40% Peruvian milk chocolate. Puff rice and roasted buckwheat, cocoa shortbread, and gavotte chunks, or even hazelnut gianduja, you can only succumb to the temptation!
Travel cakes are also in. Michael Bartocetti’s custard tart will surprise you with a recipe based on Tahitian vanilla and chocolate cream infused with black cardamom from Vietnam. Salted caramel, fleur de sel and peanut cookies; and even dark chocolate cookies will also make sweet-toothed very happy.
If you loved the Valentine’s Day pop-up flower chocolate slabs, we have good news: they are back! You only have to choose your team: milk chocolate and macadamia praline with Tahitian vanilla (also available in spread), or dark chocolate with pistachio praline, olive oil, and lime? This is a very hard choice.
If you struggle deciding, George V provides an offering serving 6 to 8 for €210. It includes almost the entire Easter collection: the signature egg, the kids oeufs eggs, the cookies, the marble egg, the custard tart, and the spread. To accompany them all, a nice selection of wines and champagnes is also provided by the pop-up.
