What a nice discovery that John Weng, this Asian restaurant that goes off the beaten track both in terms of decoration, atmosphere and even in the plate with of course dishes that marry traditional cuisine and world dishes, the menu does not lack originality!

John Weng is an Asian bistro that offers a generous, tasty and varied cuisine in a setting that goes beyond the clichés of Asian restaurants that we are used to.

Indeed, the decoration is modern. We like the atmosphere, the low or high wooden tables, the big bar and the small lounge corner to have a cocktail without necessarily having to dine, (in the 10th district). The cocktail menu is also of Asian inspiration. Let yourself be tempted by a small Japanese Samba with sake, vodka and cane sugar, by a Lychee Martini (vodka, triple sec, lychee juice, crème de cassis, lychee or by a Harakiri with Tequila, lemon juice, triple sec, japeno and cane sugar. All to be sipped in a nice musical atmosphere.

As for the cuisine, the menu is a sweet mix of Thai, Vietnamese and Japanese cuisine. We find the classics like the shrimp gyozas (8.5€), the egg rolls (7.5€), the unavoidable bo buns with beef, chicken, tofu, raw salmon... But also dishes with Asian flavors but more original as the Udon of pesto with Thai basil (15€) which you will tell us about. Or the Ramen Burger (18,5€), the cromesquis with gambas and satay caramel (creamy risotto), the wonton tacos with Asian pickles (8€) or the fried raviolis with cream cheese (8,5€).

To finish, desserts with Asian influences but always with a touch of pep like the tiramisu, lychee and rose water (9€), the profiterole with green tea, white chocolate and black sesame (8€) or the delicious sticky Rice Rolls with exotic fruits and coconut.

In short, here is a good Asian bistro which has 2 addresses, in the 17th and the 10th. We liked the setting far from the clichés, the modern and neat decoration, but especially the menu is with Asian flavors twisted with originality without forgetting the kindness of the waiters, thoughtful and smiling! The whole at prices which remain reasonable! To you to test...
