Mythic haven of Parisian nights from the 1970s, L'Aventure, located opposite the Arc de Triomphe, now unfolds as a hybrid space, part stylish restaurant with flamboyant décor, part exclusive nightclub.

In the 1970s, an iconic club opposite the Arc de Triomphe was at the heart of Parisian nightlife. And while L'Aventure has kept its name, the venue has changed significantly since 2025 under the leadership of Gilbert and Thierry Costes. The legendary den offers a second youth where night owls can still enjoy the basement's private club, but on the upper floors one can now both dine and stay there.

On the ground floor, the restaurant immediately imposes a strong aesthetic, far from the new spots flooded with beige and sometimes sterile vibes. Martin Brudnizki blends velvet, tapestries, chandeliers and carpets with geometric patterns, inspired by the Arts Décoratifs. At lunchtime, you can enjoy a meal in a bright setting, savoring quality dishes with a sumptuous view of the Arc de Triomphe.

But in the evening, the atmosphere shifts to something cozy and intimate, under soft lighting, before it becomes festive around 9 p.m., thanks to a live DJ set.

On the plate, the menu leans toward a fresh, readable sophistication. We start light, opting for green beans with hazelnuts (€18), nicely crisp, dusted with parmesan for an effective sweet-salty twist, or a very lemony sea bass carpaccio (€25) that smells of the Mediterranean, marinating in olive oil and mint. We also appreciate the little details that echo the restaurant’s name or logo even in the plating!

The dishes reinforce this balance: the linguine with morels (€34) will delight fans of al dente pasta, though mushroom lovers may not taste their flavors as intensely as with truffle—the savor is gentler, since the sauce takes the lead with a parmesan that carries a subtly fruity note.

Our second option, the salmon in beurre blanc (€38), wins you over with its crispy crust and a delicate, creamy sauce with a zesty lemon note.

For dessert, don’t miss the vanilla millefeuille (18€), nicely spiced, surprisingly airy and not overly sweet despite its indulgent caramel. If you prefer a lighter, fruitier finish to your meal, the Victoria pineapple tingles the palate in its juices, sliced as carpaccio and accompanied by a surprisingly lemon-basil sorbet.

We pair our meal with signature cocktails (21€), the Red Flag, with its red berries and a subtle bitterness, and the Marigold, a bold yuzu-forward drink that lets citrus and passion-fruit aromas take the lead over tequila and mezcal. Mocktails or more classic cocktails are also on the menu, along with a fine selection of wines.

Best suited for a celebration or a special occasion, as the bill can quickly add up, even though prices are fairly standard for the neighborhood’s marquee tables. The dishes are undeniably of high quality and prepared with good ingredients, but they feel quite conventional in terms of originality, especially since portions may be a bit too generous for the heartier appetites.

Additionally, it’s advisable to book in advance, especially for dinner, to guarantee a table, and if you want a view of the historic monument, opt for the window tables on the Victor Hugo Avenue side, if possible.

To keep the evening going after dinner, another adventure waits at the end of an exceptional mosaic corridor, decorated with mythological creatures and bathed in colorful glints as you descend to the basement. It’s here that the private club—reserved for members—unites mirrors and digital effects to light up the shadows, set to an eclectic music lineup.

Note that access isn’t guaranteed for everyone the way it is in a more traditional club. While you can reserve a table for DJ sets, the venue remains essentially a private circle, and to obtain a named membership card you’ll need not only the approval of management but also the sponsorship of current members.
