Ceviche has definitely made its mark in Paris. The advent of South American restaurants has introduced Parisian gourmets to this Peruvian specialty based on marinated fish. Revisited in a variety of ways, with increasingly surprising recipes, this dish has conquered the taste buds and earned a place of choice in the capital's restaurant panorama.
And one of the most popular places to sample this Latin American specialty is Cevicheria. A true embassy of Ceviche in Paris, it now has three addresses in the capital, in the 2nd, 10th and 17th arrondissements. All designed to welcome gourmands in a youthful, leafy setting, these spots promise a tasting experience rich in flavor.
Our favorite address is rue Bachaumont, a small alley with typical Parisian charm, in the heart of the Sentier district. Here, you can soak up the capital's sunshine from the quiet terrace, or wander into the bright interior. The à la carte menu is full of mouth-watering recipes. For our part, we literally melted with pleasure over the Peruvian-style ceviche of sea bream, tiger leche, red onions, cancha, sweet potato cubes and coriander.
If you're a fan of octopus, don't miss the Tiraditos with fried onions, red onions, aji Amarillo, preserved lemon and a stunning kalamata olive cream. For meat lovers, the Beef Tataki with ginger oil, Nikkei sauce and crispy onions might just get you hooked. Add to this a delicious sweet potato puree served piping hot with melted cheddar cheese on top and you're literally in heaven!
