The promise of an unparalleled culinary journey… This is what Yakuza Paris offers, the new restaurant of Maison Albar Hotels - Le Vendôme, inviting foodies and gourmets to discover, starting from Thursday September 9, 2021, chef Olivier da Costa’s cooking between Japan and the Mediterranean.
After an unprecedented success for his first collaboration at Maison Albar Hotels - Le Monumental Palace in 2020 in Portugal with Yakuza Porto, the chef is back this Fall 2021 in Paris to offer indulging food in an intimate setting with walls covered in street art and soft lights inspired by the Yakuza culture and designed by architect Fabien Roque.
For those who do not have the time to lag behind, for lunch, Yakuza serves an express menu for €45, served in 45 minutes. A very interesting option to eat quick without having to forget about quality and quantity as the menu includes a comforting bowl of miso soup, three vegetable and chicken gyozas, chirashi looking like a painting and served in hearty portions, some fresh and smooth fish sashimi, and a hot drink, tea or coffee.
And for esthetes who who gladly take their time to discover the best of Japanese gastronomy, Yakuza's bold menu includes many exclusive and surprising creations, as friendly as sophisticated as contemporary: sushi and sashimi prepared by the book or revisited, fish sakana tacos, gyoza, makizushi, gunkan, tempura and more dishes from robata – the Japanese grill… It has it all to treat you and make you discover new flavors!
As the signature dish, kobe gunkan with wagyu, foie gras, onion confit and teriyaki, for a chic and indulging culinary moment.
Moving on to desserts, you can also go for the Kit-Kat chocolate mousse or the green tea lava cake with sesame ice cream.
We have had the chance to taste the menu... The food is very delicate, and ingredients incredibly fresh with sushi, maki and sashimi served to order. We have been offered to discover a whole range of dishes, very delicious: Gyoza, fish tacos, lobster spring roll, a selection of sashimi, different kinds of Gunkan maki (with a bit of caviar, please!), and Nigri.... Everything is extremely well balanced, very delicate in the mouth.
We did really appreciate the very interesting wine pairing. We also highly recommend sake to finish on a great note with dessert, Sea Food, one of the only sakes produced by a woman in Japan. A drink reminding us of some Sauvignon wines... And of course, honorable mention to the Kobe Gunkan with Wagyu and foie gras, very smooth and flavorful!
Please note on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings, a DJ set will pace your dinner for a more festive moment. And for a more intimate meal, a private lounge is also available, up to 8 patrons. The occasion to discover an exceptional fusion cuisine at the table or the counter, to enjoy without moderation!
