An old-fashioned bistro in the heart of Paris… How does it sound? Head to the Saint-Régis, a place serving fantastic bistronomic cuisine in the very heart of the city, on the Ile-Saint-Louis. Proudly sitting at the corner of rues Jean du Bellay and Saint-Louis en l’île, this 100% Parisian venue is the perfect place to sip a drink or enjoy a scrumptious break with the best of French gastronomy. A wonderful place as well with unobstructed and panoramic views on the Pont Saint-Louis, the Île de la Cité, and the left riverbanks.
As for the menu, an appealing, scrumptious and hearty offer: warm goat’s cheese salad, Benedict eggs, grilled cheese, lemon chicken, salmon-avocado tartare, or some tasty rib steak… It has it all to arouse foodies’ and gourmets’ taste buds, no matter if they are from Paris or abroad! As for dessert, the best of all classics, such as French toast, chocolate cake, a scoop of salted butter caramel ice cream, or even some nougat from maison Sénéquier. The crème de la crème for sweet-toothed, to finish their meals beautifully, or to enjoy a late afternoon snack.
A brasserie we put to the test. We went for the salmon-avocado tartare and the Benedict eggs… To die for! Dishes are hearty, well-balanced, and well-seasoned. After these great courses, we beautifully finished it desserts that were just as delightful: a plate of crêpes, and a French toast with salted butter caramel ice cream. So good! Honorable mention to the French toast, one of the house’s hits!
Note that on Sundays, the Saint-Régis serves another menu, brunch style: foie gras terrine, Spanish sardines, poached eggs, fried eggs, scrambled eggs or soft-boiled eggs, Italian burger, viennoiseries, as well as crepes, and yogurt with granola… In other words, another fantastic reason to discover the place’s menu.
