When Ant-Man and The Wasp experiment with food at the Walt Disney Studios Marvel Avengers Campus… It gives Pym Kitchen, a restaurant for superheroes at Disneyland Paris, opening on July 20, 2022, at the same time as the new land.
A place inspired by Doctor Hank Pym’s laboratory who, in the comics universe, creates the “Pym particle”, a particle enabling the user to shrink to the size of an ant or get as big as a building thanks to a specific costume.
It was the minimum needed for the Parisian theme park to surf on this idea and serve a new food offer playing on the different sizes of the hero, with disproportionately sized products, giant or mini version, and create dishes to share, in sharing food fashion, at a buffet.
On the menu then, huge pretzel sandwiches to share, even if you are very hungry, as well as burgers, vegetables and cakes in huge or mini serving portions. Perfect for people who want to have a bit of everything… on the condition they share with family and friends!
The idea behind Pym Kitchen is to propose a playful and innovative lunch break during which storytelling is at the heart of the culinary experience. As for the décor, enjoy the quantic tunnel at the entrance of the restaurant – like the one seen in the Ant-Man and the Wasp movie.
There are also huge posters of the two superheroes with 100% French products in huge or mini size (like the Brie de Meaux, or bottles of wine). We were able to go to the restaurant before it officially opens, for a press event. As for the buffet, everything was fresh and good, dishes are well-thought in maxi versions (available by the cut) and mini sliders, pretzels and more crouton salads.
As for starter, we got the Caesar salad with croutons in maxi version. The perfect starter for hot summer days as it cools us off. As for dressing, everything was available on our table: salt, pepper, oil and vinegar. But you can still get the dressing you want at the buffet, served in an erlenmeyer. We also gave a go to the gazpacho and cantaloupe soup, served in mini beakers.
As for main, a piece of the maxi pretzel sandwich, as well as a "subatomic burger" and giant creamy pasta. Delicious, simple, working.
To pair it all, a glass of Brouilly (the white coat-wearing waiter brings in an test tube before pouring it in the beaker), or a glass of blue Chardonnay... Yes, the wine is blue! Two very interesting options to pair dishes. Note the Chardonnay tastes really good.
As for dessert a mini cake that was very fluffy and low in sugar, served with blue custard, as well as fruit jellies and homemade ice cream, a slice of giant strawberry entremets. A great way to finish your meal, on a sweet and beautiful note.
