Bad news for gamers. Because of the coronavirus epidemic, Paris Games Week organizers have announced the 11th edition of this major video gaming show was simply cancelled. "The current context and the necessary anticipation of both the technical and logistical complexities of an event such as Paris Games Week have led us to cancel this edition" they explained in a release.
As per usual, Paris Games Week was to take place at the Parc des Expos – Porte de Versailles. For 5 days, the Syndicat des Editeurs de Logiciels de Loisirs (SELL) takes over different halls at Paris Expo - Porte de Versailles with a now cult show.
Novelties of this late year, 2020 games premiers, international eSport championship and this year, for the second edition, a symphonic concert a stone’s throw from the fair at Dôme de Paris, Palais des Sports, a crazy event! This year, a better spot is made to cosplayers who are given a new spot featuring a photocall, a devoted store and exceptional guests. As for Youtubers, we have Squeezie as well as other stream talents such as Wankil, Jiraya, Maxildan, Zouloux, Hugo and even Zank for an exclusive moment.
Parents are invited to discover the gaming universe with Pedagojeux, an area dedicated to understand the passion of our deak kiddos for video games. For coding enthusiasts and playful video creation fans, an area also invites our children to discover a rather unknown job and to create their very own video game they can bring home to play on their computer. This year again, Women in Games is here to raise awareness about female gamers in the video game field, while the BNF invites us to discover the history of video game. Also note that a "Play as you are" area, supervised by Capgame is available, as well as an animated art gallery by group ArtTitude, Centre Pompidou with the presentation of a game created by the museum and focusing on moden art, as well as Paradise Game at the Africa Corner.
Cosplay, e-sport championship, game test, conference... You get it, Paris Games Week is the event rich in entertainments you don't want to miss! An event that should be back in 2021 and with always many video gaming surprises in store!
