Ayden's World, the inclusive indoor playground for all children in Asnières-sur-Seine

Le Monde d'Ayden opens its very first indoor playground in France, in Asnières-sur-Seine. A space designed for all children, including those with special needs. In short, a playground for all families, and above all, accessible to every child.

"Ayden, it's my second boy" says Lou, the mom-entrepreneur behind the project. Mama of four, including one—Ayden—who is multi-disabled, she created the place she would have wished to find for her son and the rest of the siblings: a space that bridges "the ordinary world and the world of disability, so that the child with a disability can enjoy it, but for the rest of the siblings and the parents too". Since the launch of the first inclusive indoor playground in 2020 in Uccle (Belgium), Lou has opened two more; Le Monde d'Ayden Asnières is the very first branch in France. It caters to children aged 0 to 10.

Set off into space and beyond with a aire de jeux spatiale featuring several rockets at its heart. Toboggan, piscine à balles to dive into, circuits d'entraînement for aspiring astronauts, parcours de motricité... Everything has been designed to welcome all audiences: an assisted language board for nonverbal children, Braille on every panel, the alphabet of the sign language for practice... plus headsets to retreat to if the noise and bustle become too much.

So we head to play at being a firefighter, a veterinarian, or a schoolteacher in dedicated play zones where imitation play has its full place. We become a postman for a few hours, a cook, a supermarket cashier, with activities that let kids act like grown-ups. And that’s not all! A LED room invites you to a collaborative musical game, where you’ll need to touch (or avoid) color tiles, with many levels of difficulty... as well as a sensory integration room, specially designed for autistic children, including a sensory hammock, a swing, a climbing wall, and more.

After a delightful session of exploring, touching, playing and loosening up your legs (or even beforehand), a wellness space whisks you off to the galaxies with a lovely immersive experience. Soft music, a cozy refuge cabin, and multicolored LED lights welcome you for a calmer moment, with the option to slip into a cosmonaut suit!

The toddlers under 2 years old won’t be left out, with a dedicated space for exploration and sensory development that lets them discover at their own pace under their parents’ supervision. The Monde d'Ayden has been conceived and designed with occupational therapists and other professionals from the paramedical field, as well as with designers (some of whom have disabilities), to ensure that the space is as inclusive as possible.

In addition to freely exploring the adventure area, Monde d'Ayden offers several family-focused events: the Sloom, a 2-hour session exclusively for children with disabilities and their families; the Blurp, a sensory session for toddlers from 6 months to 3 years; and the Boem Cracra, a sensory session for older children. The price of the activities is included in the park's standard admission ticket, however, sign up in advance is mandatory. It’s also possible to celebrate an on-site birthday party, at 39 € per child (all-inclusive).

While the kids are at play, parents can also enjoy the super coffee nook, from which you get a view of the entire playground (perfect for a parenting break), along with a solid lineup of hot drinks (all kinds of coffee and tea, plant-based milk available at no extra charge), cold drinks (iced teas, kombuchas and classic sodas), or, for the sweet-toothed, cakes. At snack time, go for the carrot cake or the homemade chocolate fondant, or cookies and other indulgences (some gluten-free or vegan—just ask on site). A savory option is also available, featuring a house croque-monsieur or savory jars.

Charge €7 for babies aged 6 months to 1 year, €16 for children 1 to 12 years, €13 for children with disabilities (also aged 1 to 12) and €8 for adults and accompanying adults aged 12 and up. On arrival, remember to bring a pair of non-slip socks, mandatory for children in the play area. If you don’t have any, the venue sells them at €2 per pair.
