Back-to-school isn't always fun for everyone: back to work, back to school... Fortunately, there's the Journées du Patrimoine (Heritage Days ) to put a smile on our faces! This annual event is always eagerly awaited by the general public: it's a chance for us to discover historic, cultural or official sites, and to enjoy special events.
The aim of this event is to reveal to visitors the monuments and treasures of France's heritage. It's often an opportunity to visit little-known places close to home.
The next edition of the Journées du Patrimoine is scheduled for September 20 and 21, 2025. In the Yvelines region, several sites are taking part, including the Villa Savoye in Poissy. An exceptional work by the famous architect Le Corbusier, the Villa Savoye is a testament to the artist's genius.
During the Journées du Patrimoine, the monument is offering free visits all weekend long. See the detailed program below.

Living spaces: architecture of thought
Suggested by Claudia Campos, curator
On the occasion of the European Heritage Days 2025, the GEM Arc-en-Ciel collective is proposing an immersive and sensitive artistic installation. This project puts the pure architecture of Le Corbusier's Villa Savoye into dialogue with the architecture of the thoughts of GEM Arc-en-Ciel artists.
The GEM arc-en-ciel is a mutual aid group based in Poissy, providing a friendly, supportive environment for people with mental health problems.
The architecture of thoughts refers to the way in which our ideas, memories, emotions and mental representations are organized internally, as in an inhabited space. Each Gem member is marked by his or her own life path, complex thoughts and spaces for reconstruction.
A dialogue between two worlds
If Le Corbusier sought to create harmony through absolute order, the artists of GEM Arc-en-Ciel invent free forms, from chaos, from what overflows, remembers and repairs itself. Without realizing it, they are extending another way of thinking about architecture: no longer a framework that encloses, but a space that welcomes human complexity.
An invisible mental heritage
GEM members are the bearers of an inner heritage that is often ignored. In this project, we see their thoughts as an architecture in itself: a space of memory, experience and reconstruction, which each person models, deconstructs or protects in his or her own way.
2025: A symbolic year for inclusion
The year 2025 marks the 20th anniversary of the February 11, 2005 law on equal rights and opportunities, participation and citizenship for people with disabilities. This law was a major turning point in France, laying the foundations for a more inclusive society. In 2025, strong commitments have been made to reinforce accessibility and inclusion for people with disabilities.
