Every year, the Heritage Days invite us to explore France’s history and cultural richness. In Seine-et-Marne (77), the event takes on a distinctive scale. From 19 to 20 September 2026, you can uncover the region’s jewels: medieval castles, offbeat museums, historic residences... This weekend offers a rare chance to step inside often inaccessible venues and to experience a full immersion in local heritage. This year, the event focuses on the themes “heritage at risk” and “heritage of photography”.
The must-see outings in Seine-et-Marne revolve around emblematic sites, but also little-known nuggets. Whether you're a lover of architecture, history or nature, there's something for everyone. The department, rich in its royal past, reveals majestic châteaux, as well as unspoilt villages where time seems to have stood still.
It's sure to be a busy weekend: with its five departmental museums , dozens of châteaux and 130,000 hectares of woodland, the Seine-et-Marne department has some wonderful walks to offer during the European Heritage Days.
More than 50 European countries taking part, tens of thousands of places to visit... The Journées du Patrimoine (Heritage Days ) are a great popular and cultural celebration, allowing us to enjoy the most beautiful historical and heritage sites close to home.
For two short days only, we have the opportunity to visit the places that house the masterpieces and history of our country and our region: to be able to discover as many treasures as possible, we need to be well organized and make the best choices!
Throughout the weekend, guided tours, workshops and special openings of monuments will take us back to medieval and even prehistoric life in the region! Discover our selection.
