Summer 2025 work on RER B: several traffic disruptions to be expected

This summer, the RER B will not escape maintenance and modernization work. RATP has announced that work will be carried out on several sections of the line in July, August and September 2025. Find out more about these upcoming disruptions on the RER B.

It's a period that public transport users in Paris and the Île-de-France region dread. Every summer, SNCF and RATP take advantage of the fact that many Parisians are going on vacation to carry out maintenance and modernization work on the rail network. And this summer of 2025 will be no exception, with traffic disruptions announced on metro lines 1, 4, 12 and 13, as well as on RER C and B.

" This summer 2025, work will continue on the RER B to maintain and modernize the line [...] The work being carried out on the line means that during certain periods the transport offer will have to be modified, or even the number of trains running reduced, and traffic on the line interrupted between July and September 2025 ", reads the RER B blog. Here are the details of the disruptions to be expected this summer on the RER B.

Weekday evening interruptions

Between Gare du Nord and Aéroport Charles de Gaulle 2-TGV / Mitry-Claye

  • From July 1 to 31 (except July 11 and 14) and from August 25 to September 30, 2025: traffic disruption between Gare du Nord and Aéroport Charles de Gaulle 2-TGV / Mitry-Claye, from 10:45pm, Monday to Friday, in both directions.

Between Denfert-Rochereau and Aéroport Charles de Gaulle 2-TGV / Mitry-Claye

  • From August 1 to 22, 2025, except August 13 and 15: traffic between Denfert-Rochereau and Aéroport Charles de Gaulle 2-TGV/ Mitry-Claye is interrupted from 10:45pm, Monday to Friday, in both directions.

Weekday and weekend interruptions, all day long

Between La Croix de Berny and Massy-Palaiseau

  • From July 15 to August 27, 2025 inclusive: traffic disrupted between La Croix de Berny and Massy-Palaiseau, all day, in both directions.

All-day weekend interruptions

Between Gare du Nord and Mitry-Claye

  • From Friday August 15 to Sunday August 17, 2025 inclusive: traffic will be interrupted between Gare du Nord and Mitry-Claye, all day long, in both directions. Trains will still run on the Aéroport Charles de Gaulle 2 branch to/from Aulnay-sous-Bois. What is the aim of this work? The continuation of three projects led by SNCF Réseau: the Charles de Gaulle Express, the commissioning of sidings at Le Bourget and the cathedral bridge at Paris Nord.

Between Gare du Nord and Aéroport Charles de Gaulle 2-TGV

  • From Saturday 13th to Sunday 14th September 2025: traffic disrupted between Gare du Nord and Aéroport Charles de Gaulle 2-TGV all day, in both directions.

Between Gare du Nord and Aulnay-sous-Bois

  • Sunday September 21, 2025: traffic disrupted between Gare du Nord and Aulnay-sous-Bois, all day, in both directions.

Between Denfert-Rochereau and La Croix de Berny / Robinson

  • Saturday September 27 and Sunday September 28, 2025: traffic disrupted between Denfert-Rochereau and La Croix de Berny/Robinson, all day, in both directions.

Interconnection failure at Gare du Nord all day long

  • From Saturday July 12 to Monday July 14, 2025: interruption of the RER B interconnection at Gare du Nord. A change of train will therefore be necessary to continue your journey from the underground station to the surface station.
