This summer, the day-to-day life of public transport users in Paris and the Ile-de-France region will be severely disrupted. While many inhabitants of the capital and Île-de-France choose this period to go on vacation, others have no choice but to stay and adapt to the numerous works undertaken by RATP. In fact, it's during the summer vacations that the number of underground works increases. And this summer of 2023 is no exception. While disruptions have already been announced on RER lines A, B and C, work is also planned on Paris metro lines 5, 6 and 7.
Another metro line impacted this summer? Line 12, linking Mairie d'Issy to Mairie d'Aubervilliers. Due to " extension work to Aubervilliers ", traffic on line 12 will be partially interrupted between Front Populaire and Jules Joffrin stations, from Wednesday August 2 to Tuesday August 8, 2023 inclusive.
The consequence? Portes de la Chapelle, Marx Dormoy and Marcadet-Poissonniers stations will be closed to passengers and inaccessible for the duration of the work. Front Populaire station will be the temporary terminus for passengers arriving from Aubervilliers, while Jules Joffrin station will be the temporary terminus for passengers arriving from the south of Paris.
So how do you get between Front Populaire and Jules Joffrin from August 2 to 8? If you like walking, you'll need to allow just over 40 minutes to get from one station to the other.
Otherwise, you're better off taking public transport, with line 7 serving the Aubervilliers - Pantin - Quatre Chemins station, line 4 running to Porte de Clignancourt, the RER E serving Gare du Nord and Rosa Parks, or the T3b tramway, which stops at Porte de la Villette and Porte d'Aubervilliers.
