Gibert Romance: a bookstore entirely dedicated to the literary phenomenon opens in Paris

Affected by several closures in France in recent years, Gibert wants to write a new page in its history. The famous network of bookshops and record stores in France has announced the opening of a new literary space in Paris, called Gibert Romance. As its name suggests, this new venue will be entirely dedicated to romance. Lovers of this literary genre, which continues to grow in popularity in the country, will be able to discover nearly 10,000 new and used titles, spread over four floors and nearly 200 square meters. This was announced by the Gibert group in a press release.

Romance readers will be spoiled for choice with books celebrating contemporary romance, romantasy, dark romance, romantic comedy, and queer romance. This unique project will also feature a space for meetings and book signings, as well as a stationery store dedicated to romance!

To meet the diverse expectations of fans of the genre, Gibert Romance will also organize a variety of events each month, including meetings and book signings with leading romance authors. So when and where will Gibert Romance open in Paris? You'll have to head to the heart of the Latin Quarter to visit this new venue dedicated to romance, more precisely at 28 Boulevard Saint-Michel in the^6th arrondissement of Paris. The opening is scheduled for November 19, 2025.

Gibert, a veritable institution founded in 1886 on Quai Saint-Michel, now has 25 stores in 13 cities, including five in Paris' Latin Quarter. This fall, the Gibert family will grow even larger with the arrival of Gibert Romance. However, as reported by the website ActuaLitté.com, the Gibert Joseph bookstore, located on Rue Marie-Andrée Lagroua Weill-Hallé in Paris's 13th arrondissement, is set to close its doors in June 2026.
