Today, there are several options for traveling from Paris to Roissy-Charles de Gaulle Airport. Of course, the RER B train remains a popular choice, with stations available at Châtelet-Les Halles, Gare du Nord, Saint-Michel, and Denfert-Rochereau. Starting March 1, 2026, Parisians and visitors alike will also have the option of taking a new express bus line, the 9517. Introduced following the cessation of the Roissybus service, this new bus route will connect Roissy Airport to Saint-Denis – Pleyel, which is accessible via metro lines 13 and 14 or the RER D network.
But that's not all. Soon, travelers will also be able to reach the famous airport located in Val-d'Oise by metro. Thanks to the Grand Paris Express network, managed by the Grand Projects Company, four new metro lines are set to open in the near future. The first to be inaugurated is line 18. If all goes according to plan, the initial section of line 18, between Massy-Palaiseau and Saclay-Christ, will welcome its first passengers in October 2026.
Next on the agenda are lines 15, 16, and 17, with service expected to start between 2027 and 2031. Notably, Line 17 of the Grand Paris Express will enable future travelers to reach Roissy-Charles de Gaulle Airport directly by metro, just as Line 14 currently provides a direct route to Orly Airport. This entirely accessible new metro line will connect nine stations from Saint-Denis – Pleyel to Le Mesnil-Amelot, passing through Roissy-Charles de Gaulle Airport in under 25 minutes.
However, there’s still a little waiting ahead before the future Metro Line 17 becomes operational. The first section, connecting Saint-Denis - Pleyel to Le Bourget Airport, is expected to open in 2027. The second stretch, linking Le Bourget Airport to Parc des Expositions, is planned for 2028. Finally, the third and final phase, running from Parc des Expositions to Mesnil-Amelot via Roissy - Charles de Gaulle Airport, is projected for 2030. Until this new metro line is ready, travelers can rely on the RER B or the express bus line 9517 to reach Roissy CDG from Paris.
