Every year, it's the same story: stars, journalists and film buffs bask in the Cannes sunshine, while the vast majority of moviegoers wait patiently in Paris for films from the official competition and parallel selections to arrive in cinemas. This year, the wait is made all the harder by the fact that not a single film (with the exception of Maïwenn's Jeanne du Barry and Valérie Donzelli's L'Amour et les Forêts, both out of competition) has been released in cinemas on the same day as its presentation at Cannes 2023.
Fortunately, a handful of events are striving to bring the atmosphere and discoveries of the Cannes Festival to Parisians... Among them, the now-famous Cannes à Paris, which previews films from the official competition.
This year, head to the MK2 Bibliothèque from May 28 to June 5, 2023 to discover the 21 films in the official selection. Some screenings are even attended by the film teams: "Anatomie d'une chute" with Justine Triet, Arthur Harari and Antoine Reinartz; "Chambre 999" with Lubna Playoust; "Jeunesse" with Wang Bing (and a translator); and "Banel & Adama" with Ramata-Toulaye Sy; and "Le Théorème de Marguerite" with Anna Novion.
