The Football World Cup is just under a year away, and Les Bleus are already starting to prepare for it. Placed in Group D withUkraine, Iceland and Azerbaijan, the French team will play its six qualifying matches in September, October and November 2025, which shouldn't pose too many problems given the opponents to be met.
After a victory in 2018 and a hard-to-swallow final in 2022, the French team will be looking to go as far as possible, starting with these qualifiers, for Didier Deschamps ' final adventure as coach. This competition, which FIFA President Gianni Infantino describes as"the greatest World Cup of all time", is quite unique in that it takes place across several countries and welcomes more teams than usual.
As a reminder, the top two teams in each group qualify directly for the 48-team World Cup, to be held from June 11 to July 19, 2025. Only the host country's team is automatically qualified for this edition, i.e. Canada, the United States and Mexico.
