"Octave is my great-grandfather" explains Marion, the founder of the venue, "Germaine, the name of the cafe, is my grandmother’s". Marion grew up in a family of merchants and, from generation to generation, inherits a love for others, for running a neighborhood business and turning regulars into friends. This drive sits at the heart of the Octave concept, a place Marion designed to "create a hub with everything I love, bring sun, the sea and human connection to Paris", a space where people connect, meet, in short, a neighborhood spot where neighbors quickly become regulars.
Octave is a project modeled on Marion, and she’s been quietly building it for more than three years to open her very first address in spring 2026, in the Batignolles district. The concept? Turn the space into a cocoon, a living hub where you can telework, with your kids, with your dog, with girlfriends, for lunch or brunch, for a snack or a hot drink... All centered around Café Germaine, but also around a fitness studio and a ceramics workshop.
Here you can join a hot pilates or hot yoga class, yoga vinyasa or hatha, and even try a surf lab session for an immersive experience that feels like you’re riding the ocean. Each day, three workout sessions are on the schedule: one in the morning, one at noon, and one in the late afternoon. Plan for €25 for a single session, with discounted multi-session passes also available. Towels are provided for your workout (and for showering if you wish), and beauty products are available in a self-service station.
Before or after a workout (or even without one), Café Germaine welcomes you all day long, with a menu offering hot as well as cold drinks, pastries and dishes for lunch or Sunday brunch (served from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.). On the menu? Colorful salads, smørrebrød (the dark rye bread of Northern Europe) served with soft-boiled eggs or salmon, a grilled cheese...
For a sweet touch, head for the treats: cakes, cookies, a vegan croissant, a granola bowl with fresh fruit, and more. On the coffee shop side, the menu offers every variation of coffees and lattes, hot or iced (€1 extra), with cow’s milk or plant-based milks (€0.70 extra for plant milks). For those who don’t drink coffee, the menu also features a large selection of teas, hot chocolate and chicory, as well as fresh fruit juices and low-sugar sodas.
Expect 28€ for the adult brunch option and 10€ for the kids’ brunch, with mains ranging from 10.50€ to 13.50€ (7€ for the children's dish), sweets from 3.50€ to 9.50€, specialty coffee at 3.50€ to 5.80€, tea at 4€, and fruit juice or a soda between 4.50€ and 6€.
Finally, for budding creatives, Octave isn’t done yet, because the venue’s basement houses a ceramics studio! Each week, hand-building and wheel-throwing classes are on offer, including sessions for children, for adults, or for parent-child duos. Expect €65 for an introductory session in wheel-throwing or hand-building at Keramos Studio!
In short, Octave embodies the kind of living space you’d love to find in many Parisian neighborhoods: a laid-back spot where you come mainly to unwind, where the welcome is warm... with a wide range of activities and outings all in one place.
