The Torch of Life: A charity run for organ donation linking four hospitals in Paris

On September 27, 2026, a charity 8-kilometre run will connect the Beaujon, Bichat, Lariboisière, and Saint-Louis hospitals in Paris. Organized by the Le Flambeau de la Vie association and AP-HP Nord, the event aims to raise awareness of organ donation and pay tribute to both donors and transplant recipients.

Want to run for a good cause right in the heart of the city? As part of the World Day of Reflection on organ donation and transplantation and donor recognition, the Le Flambeau de la Vie association and the organ and tissue donation coordination teams at Paris AP-HP Nord hospitals are organizing a new edition of their solidarity 8-kilometer race between four Parisian hospitals on Sunday, September 27, 2026.

The run is planned to start at 10 a.m. from Hôpital Beaujon and finish at Hôpital Saint-Louis, passing through Bichat and Lariboisière. Each year, thousands of patients await an organ transplant that could give them a second life, and hundreds die while waiting. We are all presumed donors unless we’ve explicitly opted out in life. It’s an opportunity to raise awareness for organ donation and to run for the cause, with friends or family!
