Want to dance to the rhythm of Tahiti? The Tamure Marathon is coming to Paris on June 28, 2026, with a participatory event open to everyone, offering a Tahitian dance intro, a danced marathon through the 20th arrondissement, and a festive Polynesian party in the evening.

The ticket to Tahiti isn’t mandatory, but your hips should stay in step. On Sunday, June 28, 2026, the association 'O Tahiti Nui transforms the Gymnase des Pyrénées, in the 20th arrondissement into a Polynesian dance floor for the 9th edition of its Tamure Marathon. From 10:30 a.m., it’s four hours of ’Ori Tahiti, a blend of drums, endurance, laughter and pinpoint hipwork. Beginners as well as seasoned dancers are welcome: no minimum level is required, only the desire to keep the rhythm.

Each year, about 250 participants from across France and abroad answer the call of the tamure. At the helm is Tahia Cambet, setting the tempo: a renowned dancer and choreographer, Heiva i Paris champion, World Champion 2022, and a leading figure in Ori Tahiti in Europe, she runs a Paris-based school with more than 300 students.

The marathon wraps up at 3:30 p.m., ahead of a awards ceremony running until 5 p.m. Behind the bouquets and the sway of hips, the event stays its course: to fund the participation of ‘O Tahiti Nui in the Hura Tapairu Manihini, a prestigious international competition held in Tahiti in November, with the aim of bringing Polynesian culture onto the stage.

On the gift front, the call of the open sea is never far away: Kaya Créations, Eimeo, and Manini Perle will be in attendance, while Air Tahiti Nui will be raffling, during the tombola, a round-trip Paris–Tahiti plane ticket.

After the exertion, the party starts. From 6 p.m., Jo&Joe Paris Nation takes over with a Tahitian Bringue open to everyone, also by reservation. One final burst of fun to head home with Tahiti in your hips!
