Whether the weather's nice or not, you're itching to climb. Climbing is a great way to relieve stress and get away from it all for a while, in the great outdoors or indoors in one of the capital's many climbing gyms. To help you unwind effectively, our editorial team has compiled a list of the best climbing sites and gyms in the Paris region!
When it comes to indoor climbing, you need to differentiate between 2 types of facility: climbing walls, which require you to climb with a partner, using ropes, harnesses and carabiners, and low-level bouldering facilities, which require no special equipment apart fromclimbing shoes. So there are 2 schools of thought: those who like to be sure of themselves and climb high for continuous effort, and those who prefer the technical and unrestricted accessibility of bouldering. From classic open spaces to converted sites such as old chapels or churches, there's something for everyone.
Outdoors, grab a mat and a buddy to belay you in case of a fall, and let's get climbing in the forest, on an old water tower or on a boulder.
