Who will take home the trophy at Eurovision 2026? Who will succeed JJ, the winner of last year’s contest? The full results will be announced on Saturday, May 16, 2026, during the grand final scheduled this year in Vienna, Austria.
Earlier, the competition will be shaped by the well-known semi-finals, scheduled for Tuesday, May 12, and Thursday, May 14, 2026. But which countries have been chosen for the first semi-final, and which will compete in the second? On Monday, January 12, 2026, the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) announced the results of the semi-final draw for the Eurovision Song Contest.
This process determines the distribution of the participating countries—those not automatically qualified—between the two semi-finals. This year, 30 countries were drawn randomly: 15 for the semi-final on May 12 and another 15 for the semi-final on May 14. The "Big 4," representing the largest contributors to the European Broadcasting Union (France, Germany, Italy, and the UK), along with Austria (winner in 2025), automatically qualify for the final on May 16.
So, will the Swedish representative perform their song in the first or second semi-final? And does Finland need to prepare for their moment on May 12 or May 14 in Vienna? Find out right now with the results of this semi-final draw.
In the automatic qualification category, Germany and Italy will debut their songs in the first semi-final, while Austria (a reigning champion in 2025), France, and the United Kingdom are set to perform during the second semi-final.
As for the exact lineup order of the semi-finals, it will be announced this spring by the show's producers.
It’s worth noting that 35 countries are taking part this year in the Eurovision Song Contest, following the withdrawal of five nations (Spain, Ireland, Iceland, the Netherlands, and Slovenia).
