Turning 70 is a milestone worth celebrating! That’s exactly what Eurovision had in mind. The iconic song contest is marking its platinum anniversary this year, with the next edition scheduled for May 2026 in Vienna, Austria. This year, 35 countries are vying for the trophy.
To properly celebrate its seven decades, the UER, the European Broadcasting Union responsible for organizing Eurovision every year, announced the first-ever official tour of the event. Dubbed the "Eurovision Song Contest Live Tour", this concert series was set to travel through 10 cities, including Paris. In the French capital, the Eurovision Song Contest was scheduled to take over Paris Bercy on Monday, June 29, 2026. It was also announced that iconic artists representing the show's seven-decade history would be taking part, performing their greatest hits live on stage.
Organizers had announced the lineup would include Alessandra, Norway’s 2023 representative with the song "Queen of Kings", as well as Guy Sebastian, who competed for Australia in 2015 with "Tonight Again", and Helena Paparizou, who took Greece to Eurovision in 2005.
Also slated to perform at Bercy Arena were the Australian-Irish singer-songwriter Johnny Logan, famed for being the first artist to win the Eurovision Song Contest twice. Joining the lineup were Katrina, Verka Serduchka—who represented Ukraine in 2007—and the iconic Finnish heavy metal band Lordi, winners of the contest back in 2006.
However, the organizers have announced the cancellation of this tour, including the scheduled concert in Paris on June 29, 2026. “We regret to inform you that the Eurovision Song Contest Live tour has been canceled. All ticket holders will be fully refunded through their point of purchase,” they announced. It’s worth noting that tickets bought through official outlets will be automatically refunded, while those purchased via resale platforms will need to contact their point of sale directly.
So, what’s the reason behind the event’s cancellation? “We faced unforeseen challenges that, despite the dedicated efforts of our team, producers, and promoters, we were unable to overcome,” the organisers explained in a statement.
