Travel through art without leaving Paris... This is what the Sobering Galerie is offering you through a unique immersive experience, entitled Have a Good Trip and signed by Dan Ghenacia, to be discovered from November 16, 2023 and extended until March 30, 2024. Fusing art and neuroscience, this exhibition presents itself as a deep immersion between contemplation and meditation, oscillating deliciously between wakefulness and dream.
The Clock, the centerpiece of the exhibition, is a rotating work of light conceived during a period of restricted travel. Inspired by Brion Gysin 's Dreamachine, it uses flashing light to impinge on the optic nerve, activating certain brain waves. This creation offers visitors a meditative or psychedelic experience, ideally experienced with eyes closed. The Mirror also combines design and well-being, inviting introspection through a harmony of light and music. Using a mobile app, viewers can control the work's integrated programs, including therapeutic sequences developed with neuroscientist Dr. Teixeira, and binaural sound sequences.
But that's not all... Dan Ghenacia also offers MindArt immersion, enabling visitors to create a work of art using their own brainwaves. Each brain frequency is converted into an emotion, feeding an artificial intelligence that generates a unique digital creation. Visitors leave with this work of art, printed on a steel plate, as a tangible souvenir of their sensory adventure. Finally, The Clouds offers a contemplation of the heavens, born of the lack felt by the artist during confinement. These photographic compositions transport viewers into singular, captivating and distinct universes.
We were able to preview this exhibition. The first part, The Clouds, takes you straight aboard an airplane, between wonder and meditation. The power of images and staging will soothe you from the moment you enter. Note that if you buy one of the works on display, the porthole - used as a frame - will be sold with it (logical...).
The second, more meta, part offers you (for a reservation fee) the chance to create your own work of art in the form of an NFT... by thought! Yes, yes, you read that right. How does it work? You sit in front of a revisited stroboscope, choose from two sound experiences, have neurotransmitters placed on your forehead, close your eyes, and let the music and light carry you along. Lasting 5 minutes, the experience is a fine promise, offering you the chance to leave with your work in digital form or "printed" on metal plate, sent to your address.
Two beautiful works to discover, for an experience off the beaten track!
Dan Ghenacia 's universe invites you into a deep incursion where art and consciousness mingle, for an unforgettable experience at Sobering Galerie. Please note: although access to the gallery is free, The Clock and The Mirror are not. You'll need to pay 10 euros for these, and 50 euros to experience neurotransmitters (and create your own work). The printed version of your work (associated with the digital work) will cost you 160 euros. An opportunity to plunge into a world where traditional boundaries are pushed back... And don't forget to reserve, folks!
