During the fall season, exhibitions dedicated tocontemporary art are multiplying in Paris. This year, 2025, is no exception to the rule, with works on display at the Templon Gallery, the Perrotin Gallery, and the Galleria Continua. If you are visiting the 17th arrondissement of the capital, we highly recommend stopping by the Reiffers Art Center to discover a unique exhibition combining the in situ work of Daniel Buren and the sublime installation by Canadian artist Miles Greenberg.
Created in 2021 by Paul-Emmanuel Reiffers, Reiffers Initiatives is a philanthropic endowment fund dedicated to supporting young contemporary artists and cultural diversity. The venue is home to the Reiffers Art Center, which hosts an annual exhibition during Art Basel Paris featuring a mentoring project between a young talent and an internationally renowned artist.
This fall, the Reiffers Art Center invites you to come and admire two creations made in situ by Daniel Buren, the renowned French artist behind the famous "Buren Columns," as well as sculptures byMiles Greenberg, a 27-year-old Canadian performer and artist who has already made a name for himself at the Venice Biennale and in New York.
The discovery begins outside with "La Façade aux Acacias," an in situ creation by Daniel Buren that enhances the façade of the building housing the Parisian gallery. Once inside, we walk down a long corridor and come face to face with another work created by the famous French visual artist. We continue on our way and arrive in a large room, plunged into darkness. It is here that Canadian artist Miles Greenberg immerses us in a bewildering underground aquatic universe with his project entitled "Gods of Solaris."
The immersion is perfect with these three sculptures, the mud, the water, the drops falling from a suspended bag, and the reflection effects. These three new sculptures, made for the first time in aluminum, represent three war scenes: "Saint George and the Dragon," "Perseus Holding the Head of Medusa," and "Saint Michael the Archangel Slaying the Demon."
The visit ends upstairs with a second creation made in situ by Daniel Buren, this time on the building's glass roof. Entitled "New Images of the Sky," this work offers a view of the sky transformed through a play of light and colors (blue, yellow, pink, red, green, etc.).
To discover this unique exhibition, which can be visited quickly and free of charge, head to the Reiffers Art Center, located just a 3-minute walk from the Argentine station (metro line 1) or 8 minutes from the Ternes station (metro line 2). The gallery is open Tuesday to Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
