The Curie Museum, located in the 5th arrondissement of Paris, is hosting a special nocturnal event on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, in celebration of International Day of Women and Girls in Science. From 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., this unique evening offers visitors a chance to explore the museum from a different perspective—dedicated to the women who shaped the history of the Curie Laboratory.
Housed in the historic Radium Institute—where Marie Curie spent nearly two decades working—the museum hosts a special evening for visitors. They have the chance to explore the scientist's original office and her personal laboratory, preserved in an atmosphere that authentically reflects the era of groundbreaking discoveries in radioactivity.
This evening event goes beyond just a tour: it offers engaging scientific mediation and highlights the contributions of female researchers who worked alongside Marie and Irene Curie, drawing on two different publications. The authors of these books, Camilla Maiaini and Natalie Pigeard-Micault, will be present throughout the evening to meet visitors and host book signing sessions.
During short guided tours based on archival research, visitors explore the journeys of these scientists, their major contributions, and the often overlooked conditions under which they worked. The goal is to make science accessible to everyone! Admission is free, and visitors can enter without reservations, subject to capacity limits.
