If you live or work in the 17th arrondissement of Paris, you may have noticed this facade with its stripes and zigzag pattern. Lovers of conceptual art will probably have recognized the work of a famous French artist, already responsible for an unmissable work in the capital. So, who is it and why has this building facade been transformed in this way? We'll tell you everything!

Art is everywhere in the streets of Paris. It is not uncommon to come face to face with sculptures or more contemporary, even urban, works. Whether permanent or temporary, they catch the eye and arouse curiosity. Passing through the 17th arrondissement of the capital, near Les Ternes, our gaze is drawn to a new monumental work.

In the discreet Rue des Acacias, wedged between Avenue Mac-Mahon and Avenue Carnot, many passersby stop in front of No. 30. It is here that a building facade has recently been enhanced by a huge and famous French artist. While many wonder who is behind this work, some have recognized the inimitable style of... Daniel Buren!

The renowned visual artist, who created the famous "Colonnes de Buren" in the courtyard of the Palais Royal, produced this work in situ this fall, specifically at the request of Reiffers Art Initiatives, located at 30 Rue des Acacias. The creation celebrates the fifth anniversary of his mentoring program.

Revealing a succession of large isosceles triangles, created using his famous white stripes measuring 8.7 cm in diameter, Daniel Buren has truly enhanced the entire façade of this building, which houses the Reiffers Art Initiatives endowment fund. Decorated and cut in a zigzag pattern, this new Parisian façade challenges the viewer's perception of urban space.

Simply named "La Façade aux acacias" (The AcaciaFacade), this recent creation by Daniel Buren is not the only work designed for the occasion. The famous major figure in conceptual and minimalist art also unveils "Nouvelles images du ciel" (New Images of the Sky), a colorful creation that can be discovered this time on the building's glass roof and admired from the first floor ofReiffers Art Initiatives.
