Amazônia evening at the Quai Branly Museum: live painting, concert, performances... the program

Echoing its temporary exhibition, the Musée du Quai Branly is organizing an "Amazônia" evening on Friday, November 21, 2025. What's on the program? Live painting, immersive theater, a brass band, performances, a ball, and a screening... all free of charge.

Since September 30, the Musée du Quai Branly has been offering a journey into the heart of a diverse and contemporary Amazon, highlighting the voices and creations of indigenous peoples. Echoing this unique exhibition, the famous Parisian museum is organizing a free themed evening on Friday, November 21, 2025, simply entitled "Amazônia." 

From 8:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m., come and enjoy a series of events that will immerse you in the urban Amazon, discovering a living territory rich in surprises. During this evening, visitors will have free access to the exhibition "Amazônia. Indigenous Creations and Futures." But that's not all, as the evening will also feature performances, a marching band, a DJ set, immersive theater, a screening, and live painting. Throughout the evening, there will also be a pop-up bar (paid) and a photo booth where you can strike a pose and immortalize the moment. Check out the program here!

Amazônia Evening, the program

  • Live painting: Corazón Caliente- from8:00 p.m.to 10:30 p.m.
    Performer and visual artist KAY pays tribute to the drag community and urban popular culture through her series'Corazones Calientes'(Burning Hearts). For this live painting, KAY will be accompanied by artist Stephan Zimmerli.

  • Performance: Ombre des amazonies(Shadow of the Amazon)- from8:15 p.m. to 8:35 p.m.
    With'Ombre des Amazonies', artist KAY transforms space into a living material, combining sculpture, dance, and poetry.

  • Immersive theater: Yaku Massuana: Our Right to Live- from 8:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and from 9:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
    Combining music, cinema, and poetry, this collective performance addresses Amazonian socio-political issues and the recognition of the Rights of Nature as new ways of inhabiting the world.

  • Flash tours: Amazônia. Indigenous Creations and Futures- from 8:30 p.m. to 11:45 p.m.
    Accompanied by a lecturer, immerse yourself in the heart of the Quai Branly Museum exhibition through the eyes of the peoples who inhabit the Amazon.

  • Fanfare: Carimbó- from 9:30 p.m. to 9:50 p.m.

  • Talk: Amazonian pop music, a political tool?- 8:45 p.m. to 9:15 p.m.
    Renaud Brizard, journalist, podcaster, ethnomusicologist, and DJ, and Felipe Maia, journalist and ethnomusicologist, invite you to discover and better understand the vitality of the contemporary Amazonian music scene.

  • Concert: Baile da radiola, Jazon & Zêthó- from 10:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.
    Nine musicians perform a repertoire that spans the history of Amazonian music, from the 1960s to today. 

  • Mixed ball: DJ, brass band & dance- from 10:40 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
    What's on the program? Electro and technobrega beats, brass instruments, percussion, and choreographed performances.

  • Performance: Notre forêt(Our Forest) - 11:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.
    'Notre Forêt' is a choreographed solo, a circus performance, and a visual and sound installation.

  • DJ set: Yarà- from 11:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m.

  • Screening: Huella- from 11:45 p.m. to 11:59 p.m.
    Directed by two circus artists, Mosi Espinoza and Justine Berthillot, this documentary film follows the couple on a month-long journey punctuated by encounters and performances shared with eight indigenous Amazonian communities.
