Jacques Chirac, Michel Berger, Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo of Daft Punk, Jean-Louis Aubert, Stéphane Bern, Francis Huster and Jean Reno... all these celebrities have one thing in common: they all attended the same Parisian lycée, a renowned school in the 17th arrondissement of Paris. We tell you all about it.

It's a school renowned for its teaching. Located on boulevard Malesherbes, in the 17th arrondissement of Paris, the Lycée Carnot is also known for its sublime hall, featuring a steel structure by Gustave Eiffel! This covered space, which serves as both playground and sports hall, is nicknamed the " hall Eiffel ", but also " la Marquise ". In fact, this " hall Eiffel " has been used as a shooting location for a number of film scenes, including Mathieu Kassovitz's"Métisse" (1993). It has also hosted numerous fashion shows, including those of Mugler, Kenzo, Chloé and Alexander McQueen.

But the Lycée Carnot is also renowned for having trained many famous personalities, including writers, musicians, politicians, actors and scientists.

The list is long, but it includes Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo, the famous Daft Punk duo who met on the benches of a Parisian high school. Jean-Louis Aubert and Louis Bertignac, who later went on to form Téléphone, also forged a close friendship at the Lycée Carnot.

Michel Berger also attended the Lycée Carnot, as did poet and novelist Louis Aragon, young French Resistance hero Guy Môquet, former French President Jacques Chirac, TV presenter Stéphane Bern, comedian Pierre Desproges, actors Jean Reno, Jacques Weber and Francis Huster, painter Bernard Buffet and scientist Serge Haroche (winner of the 2012 Nobel Prize in Physics).

For the more curious, the Lycée Carnot is exceptionally opening its doors to the general public during the Heritage Days.
