Grab your walking shoes for a one-and-a-half-hour stroll through the forest of Saint-Germain-en-Laye, in the Yvelines region of France, where you can discover Afghan walking, a practice that allows you to improve your breathing and regenerate your body more effectively, in the midst of nature. It's a walking experience akin to meditation, allowing you to relax your body and mind in the midst of the trees.
Once a month, Sylvie Perrotta, sophro-relaxologist, offers you this initiation in Île-de-France, which will help you to walk without tiring, with better posture and a more synchronized heartbeat. This technique originated in the 1980s from observations by Frenchman Édouard Stiegler of Afghan caravaneers , who walk over 60 kilometers a day for one or two weeks.
Anyone can try it, provided they can manage 1h30 of walking in the forest, as the pace is adapted to each individual to remain comfortable. TheMaisons-Laffitte Tourist Office also invites you to try out other activities to suit your tastes, from Italian cookery workshops to an immersion in the world of horse racing or a visit to anironworks!
