In autumn, many animals engage in courtship displays during their breeding season. The Forêt de Rambouillet, located in the Yvelines department and accessible by train, is a preserved natural area where you can observe certain animals, notably the stag, from September 5 to October 5, 2025, in special areas known as"brame places".Espace Rambouillet invites you to admire this spectacle at sunrise or sunset, in the silence of nature, before a forest meal.

Every year, the big bucks meet up with the doe herds and start bellowing, an impressive moment when you can hear real guttural cries. With this noise, the dominant stags defend their territory, and may also fight with their antlers to see who can mate with the hinds present. The latter will then give birth to adorable little fawns before next summer.

An opening weekend on September 7 and 8 awaits you alongside the champions of the Brame, with Europe's best imitators offering vocal demonstrations and time for exchange with the public. There are several options for observing this suspended moment in peace and quiet, before sampling local products over breakfast, an aperitif or dinner, depending on the time of day, but also before a bivouac, a chance to fall asleep to these astonishing sounds.

Pleaserespect the animals' peace and quiet, don't be too noisy, don't try to make contact with them, and keep to the aisles,as rutting males can be aggressive. We recommend you book as early as possible, as places are limited.
