A mainstay of the Rue de Charonne for many years, the Michelin-starred Septime restaurant delights gourmets from Paris and beyond, without ever failing in its mission.
In 2021, Bertrand Grébaut and Théo Pourriat, heads of both Septime and Clamato, embark on a new adventure: Tapestry. Well, not exactly. We'll stop you right there: no, you won't be able to call on this power duo to reupholster your apartment...
On the other hand, chef Bertrand Grébaut and his partner Théo Pourriat have opened Tapisserie- a clever anagram for pastry, as you've probably guessed! This is a patisserie that offers sweet treats at very precise times, as there's only one oven and each batch is made by the hour. A time slot to follow to get your pastries fresh and perfect.
Located not far from Septime, at 65 rue de Charonne, the new Tapisserie patisserie boasts an abundance of goodies in its window, but with a limited menu - and that's a good thing: cakes, pastries, seasonal fruit tarts, sugar tarts, chocolate, lemon or bourdaloue tarts, creamy flan, kouign amann...
We're crazy about the famous choux pastries with fragrant flouve, the field weed that gives the cream its special flavor. We also love the Clamatarte, a tartelette with maple syrup and sugar-free whipped cream, just divine, a signature of the Clamato restaurant.
In short, we loved it and highly recommend this new Parisian patisserie. Note that you can also enjoy Septime's delicious dishes, available at the moment to take away!
Please note that it's been over 4 years since our last visit, so the place and experience may have changed.
