Craving to do your al-fresco grocery run in Seine-et-Marne (77)? Head to Cueillette de la Grange in Coubert, near Brie-Comte-Robert, to pick your own seasonal fruits, vegetables and flowers on a farm that welcomes both kids and grown-ups. A spot that truly smells of wicker baskets, earthen paths and post‑stroll returns that end up in the kitchen!
Situated in the east of Paris, the Cueillette de la Grange sits in a charming agricultural space in the French Brie, not far from Melun and the Château de Vaux le Vicomte. Opened in 1987 by Marc Lemarié and his family, this pick-your-own in Seine-et-Marne now spans 35 hectares. People come to harvest over the seasons more than fifty varieties of fruits, vegetables and flowers: fraises, tomatoes, lettuces, potatoes, cabbages, courgettes, beans, peas, apples, raspberries, prunes or cherries depending on the period and the seasons.
The farm practices a responsible farming approach and highlights varieties chosen for their flavor, suited to the Île-de-France terroir. The picking season runs from late March to mid-November, while a basket system lets visitors enjoy local products even in winter. Note that wheelbarrows, baskets and tools are available at the entrance to facilitate the visit.
A delightful find worth exploring to breathe easy, pick fresh produce, and cook it up right away!
