Paris: Pastries are making a comeback

With the lifting of lockdown restrictions, Paris is waking up again and more and more pastry shops are reopening their doors for takeaway sales. The recovery is shaping up to be a delicious one!

Lockdown is lifting, as is the iron curtain on Parisian pastry shops. That's all it took to attract the capital's sweet tooths, who came to rediscover the creations of their favorite chefs. While it's not yet time to meet up in tea rooms, pastries are still available for takeaway or delivery. After 55 days of lockdown, these sweet spots are increasingly popping up again, in compliance with health recommendations

And now, enticed by the delicious smell, you're probably thinking, "Where to start?!" Here are some of our favorites:

*The shop at 3 Rue Monge in the 5th arrondissement is open Tuesday to Saturday from 1:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., while the shop at 17 Rue Poncelet in the 17th arrondissement is open Tuesday to Saturday from 1:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. 

After brightening up lockdown with his Confi'Box, Yann Couvreur has stepped through the looking glass to unveil his Déconfin'Box. Every weekend, a gourmet selection awaits us. But that's not all, as the chef is once again offering his pastries for click & collect or takeaway in his Parisian shops

Christophe Michalak is also reopening two of his shops. The one in the Maraisis openWednesday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. The one in Saint-Germain is open Friday through Tuesday at the same times. 

For lovers of canelés, the Aux Deux Canelés shop is reopening its doors in the Marais district, at 72 rue de la Verrerie. This spot offers foodies the chance to taste both sweet and savory creations.
