Le Domaine de Richebourg: a 17th-century mill transformed into exceptional self-catering cottages with swimming pool in the Paris region of 78.

In the heart of the Yvelines region, Domaine de Richebourg has transformed a 17th-century mill into an exceptional boutique hotel. Its eleven private houses open onto nature, combining modern comforts with old stones, offer an exclusive experience combining history, relaxation and personalized services. A haven where authenticity and refinement invite you to take a break in the countryside.

Once upon a time, in the heart of the Yvelines region (78), halfway between Versailles and Houdan, a 17th-century mill lay dormant in the weeds. Until the Pierres d'Histoire label, , which restores forgotten buildings with a love of detail and the rigor of a goldsmith, brought it back to life - without denaturing it, but by giving it a new raison d'être: to host exceptional stays in a setting where history breathes at the top of its lungs.

Welcome to the Domaine de Richebourg, three hectares of unspoilt nature bordered by the peaceful waters of the Sausseron, with eleven private houses with gardens, 23 comfortable rooms, and a décor where ancient meets contemporary design. Here, every stone tells a story, but in a discreetly luxurious, slow-living atmosphere.

The architects at Terrones AGT designed every line, every beam, every volume to respect the soul of the place. The decor, meanwhile, bears the signature of Raphaëlle Bernard(Mama Shelter, anyone?), who infuses the estate with a warm, bold and resolutely timeless spirit. The result? An atmosphere as refined as it is relaxed, with an arty twist that really hits the spot.

In terms of facilities, it's a far cry from the flour mill of yesteryear: private spa with sauna and Nordic bath, outdoor pool overlooking the millstream, pickleball court (padel's little brother that's all the rage), multisport, fitness trail, bowling green, meditation islands, yoga area on an island, brazier for XXL grills, sandbox forkids.... It's a bit like Moulin 2.0, where every nook and cranny calls for relaxation or movement - as you wish.

Want to include a seminar? Perfect! The barn boasts an 85 m2 meeting room, a cosy 50 m2 mezzanine and a 25 m2 sub-commission room. All surrounded by greenery and inspiration. Nature's version of team-building makes a welcome change from gray halls and dreary coffee breaks.

To ensure that comfort matches the setting, the couple in charge of the estate take great care. Breakfast delivered with local produce, welcome dinners, personalized services via a network of partners (chefs, caterers, coaches, masseurs...). Nothing is left to chance, everything is tailor-made.

And because commitment doesn't stop at old stones: every night spent here supports the Fondation Mérimée and the preservation of listed monuments.

Domaine de Richebourg is a haven for those who love a good story, walls with a memory, and stays that have as much soul as allure.

A little history ...
The Richebourg mill has a long history. Mentioned as early as the 13th century in the Port-Royal cartulary, it was part of a complex donated to the abbey by the Bishop of Paris in 1206. In those days, flour and tiles were produced here, to the rhythm of the Sausseron - a watercourse that the monks of Bazainville didn't hesitate to reshape to optimize its motive power. The site has seen centuries, restorations and some great figures, such as Comte de Cossé-Brissac, lieutenant-general of King Louis XV's armies, who owned it in the 18th century, before falling asleep at the dawn of the Industrial Revolution.
Today, its stones find new life and meaning, in a setting where history has its rightful place.
