Poggi Cup: the affordable street-food restaurant in Paris's 13th arrondissement

Looking for a good, affordable address in Paris's 13th arrondissement? Here's a tempting spot to discover for lovers of good flavors. Poggi Cup is a new-generation street-food concept based on seasonal produce at affordable prices. A good deal for students as well as for those wishing to discover a restaurant offering good value for money.

The world of Poggi Cup, founded by Sébastien Poggi, who also owns the restaurant l'Hommage, is as colorful as the cheerful team behind it. This concept, specially designed for those on a budget, proves that you can eat well for cheap in Paris. Here we discover dishes in pots, with superimposed layers allowing us to discover the different flavors and textures that make up the recipe. This format also makes them easy to adapt to different diets and allergies. As everything is homemade, the composition of the cups is mastered right down to the fingertips, allowing for this flexibility.

But what exactly do we eat here? The menu here is designed to satisfy our cravings of the moment. During our spring visit, we were able to discover 2 hot recipes and three cold ones. The best-seller is the first-price Poggi Classic, which features a parmesan crumble, onion compote, smoked bacon, confit potato, bacon mousse, Emmental cheese and crispy onions. Enticing, isn't it?

We also fell for a vegan recipe, the Spring, which features tabbouleh, chickpeas, asparagus, onion pickles, hummus mousse and croutons. Full of flavor, this cup will have delighted us as much as refreshed our palates. Everything is prepared à la minute, right before your eyes, and it shows!

What we love about this concept is that the cups are hearty enough to fill big stomachs, yet in a format that makes it easy to carry around and save for later for those with a bird's appetite.

But save room for dessert! For lovers of fruity flavors, don't miss the Poggi Fraise, with its Breton shortbread, basil-scented strawberry compote, generous chunks of fresh strawberries, almond chantilly, all topped with chopped basil. Enough to make our mouths water!

Another must-have on the menu is the tiramisu revisited in the Poggi Cup style! The coffee-soaked sponge cake, chocolate-coffee cream, mascarpone espuma and cocoa powder are all there, of course. But this version also features a crunchy praline (homemade, mind you!) that will have us melting with greed. No wonder it's such a hit.
