Rue des rosiers, Saint-Ouen-sur-Seine, you could almost pass it by: a large wooden sliding gate, no special insignia, and yet here, at number 70, is the MOB House, an intimate hotel, popular for its swimming pool in summer, its DJ sets on weeknights or at lunchtime at Feuille de Chou, its organic brasserie offering a starter-main course-dessert menu for €25.
Feuille de Chou is, in a way, the meeting of two trends, two worlds: on the one hand, there's the spirit of a true Parisian (in this case, Audonian) bouillon, where people come to enjoy generous French cuisine at lunchtime. On the other, the focus is on the quality and sourcing of ingredients, with a certified organic brasserie cooking with 95% organic produce.
On the menu? French gastronomic classics - hard-boiled eggs with mayonnaise, celery remoulade, mashed sausage, leek vinaigrette, poultry fricassee - revisited in a "modern organic brasserie" style by chef Nicolas Storai. Here, the success of the recipes lies in the details: the pumpkin seed coulis on the pumpkin velouté, the salmon tartar on top of the celery remoulade dome, the homemade pickles hidden in the restaurant's signature burger, in the bread that arrives hot from the basket, the strips of preserved lemon on the snacked salmon.... Or in the drinks menu, which focuses on refreshing, tangy cocktails and mocktails that are never too sweet, like the Beet by Mule, which combines vodka, beet juice and cherry blossom, or the Floral Grove, with its light chamomile fragrance, enhanced by lemon-apple-sparkling water juice.
When it comes to service, Feuille de Chou is no exception to the rule for a quick lunch in the middle of a fast-paced working day: service is fast and efficient, and dishes are laid out before your eyes from the open kitchen. For €25, the chef (and his team) serve up 100% sourced cuisine, with 95% organic produce sourced from short supply chains and, of course, from France. For those with big stomachs, we recommend the three-course lunch menu for €25 or, if you're afraid you won't have room, its little sister at €22 (starter-main course or main course-dessert).
Off the menu, the Feuille de Chou burger (vegetarian version à la carte) is worth a detour, with its butcher-style steak, caramelized bacon and farmhouse Comté cheese. "The poultry fricassee or the beef fondant with olives also do very well", confides the waitress, in her khaki jumpsuit, the uniform de rigueur for the service team. Otherwise, the chef offers suggestions every week, with a starter, main course and dessert on the menu, depending on his inspiration.
Outside lunchtime, Feuille de Chou is also the place to come for a drink, a coffee or a snack... service is available all day long, and the menu of desserts and finger foods to share can satisfy every craving. Sweet potato and ginger accras, home fries and a plate of local cheeses can be shared over a drink or as a snack, whatever the time of day. For those with a sweet tooth, try the (very) sweet French toast with caramel beurre salé topped with a scoop of ice cream, rice pudding, floating island or orange salad with orange blossom and pistachio slivers.
Even without food, the MOB House is the perfect place to telework : as you enter, it's the first on the left. Here, you'll find everything you need to spend your working day, including lunch (or not), coffee, calls, meetings... Without being disturbed. All you have to do is settle in wherever you like: curl up on the sofas, prefer the huge designer chairs, join the meeting table... all set up for this purpose, with sockets everywhere to plug in your computer.
