From Greece to Italy, the border is razor-thin. Italian chef Martino Ruggieri has inaugurated Maison Ruggieri Palais Royal right in the heart of Palais-Royal galleries. The new spot has taken over the space once occupied by the former Restaurant du Palais Royal, previously owned by the Evok group and run by Greek chef Philip Chronopoulos.
Hailing from the Puglia region, former right-hand man to Yannick Alléno and Italy’s Bocuse d’Or winner in 2017, Chef Martino Ruggieri is embarking on a new chapter in his career. Recognized with two Michelin stars in 2024 for his former restaurant in the 8th arrondissement (now known as Héritages), he is determined to make this regal address a testament to his unwavering gastronomic standards. It’s very likely he will soon regain Michelin stars swiftly under this new venture.
Located within this historic site, just a short walk from the Comédie-Française, Martino Ruggieri presents a cuisine described as "precise and contemporary, balancing memory and innovation". He continues to explore a gastronomy rooted in tradition, emphasizing bold flavors and memories—themes he weaves into structured culinary journeys that resemble poems.
Committed to a thoughtful approach to ingredients, this new restaurant showcases a full appreciation of produce, offering tasting menus (€110 for lunch, closer to €300 for dinner) that invite diners to indulge in a culinary journey. All set within a historic setting gearing up to celebrate the quadricentennial of the Palais-Royal.
