Do we still need to introduce Dessirier? This institution in the 17th arrondissement is certainly one of the best fish restaurants in Paris.

Dessirier is what we commonly call an institution. Established since 1883 on the Place du Maréchal Juin in the 17th arrondissement, this unmissable fish restaurant run by the two-starred Michel Rostang and his daughters is, in a way, part of the neighborhood's furniture. Without gathering dust!

The restaurant offers a very chic and above all modern seafood cuisine - with nevertheless the presence on the menu of some classics of French gastronomy like the avocado shrimps (28€). We tasted, for example, the sea bream and lobster tartar (38€) divinely melting; and shelled scampi tails accompanied by a cream of zucchini, lemon confit and kalamata olive (33€).

Among the dishes on the menu are a fillet of red mullet with spicy carrots (38€), a pan-fried squid (41€) and a gratin of Martelli macaroni and Breton lobster (49€). We opted for two excellent dishes, namely a wild blue sea bass steak (44€), mashed potatoes and poultry jus and a roast of red tuna (36€) just roasted, with on the side small stuffed vegetables of Provence super cute (look at this mini-vanilla!) and perfectly seasoned.

Gourmets will opt for whole fish grilled or cooked in a salt crust - sea bream, coastal turbot, saint pierre; between 41€ and 54€ per person - or for whole, poached or roasted blue lobster (76€).

Desserts at Dessirier 's are in line with the dishes and starters: of a high level. We went for rather classic choices: a fabulous chocolate soufflé (13€) and a vanilla mille-feuilles with salted butter caramel sauce (13€). But the restaurant also offers fresher and fruitier desserts like a frozen peach, lemon thyme sorbet, red currant coulis (13€) or a melting apricot, refreshed melon soup, vervain sorbet (15€).

For fish lovers or simply for those who love exceptional products, theDessirier institution is THE place to go to satisfy all your desires thanks to its unique French know-how.

Please note that it's been over 4 years since our last visit, so the place and experience may have changed.
