At Galeries Lafayette Gourmet, the Starving Club is the place to go for generous, gourmet street food with family and friends. Fresh produce, fast service and really nice portions: we've found the winning combo for an on-the-go lunch, a chill dinner or a Sunday brunch!

In the kitchen is Thibaut Spiwack, contestant in the 13th season of Top Chef and creator of a gourmet menu inspired by cuisines from around the world. Partnered with Thibault Mazarguil, the duo have been running the Starving Club for several years now, with a first address in the 15th arrondissement and a second within Galeries Lafayette, in the 9th!

"Here, street food is the common thread", says Thibaut Mazarguil, Starving Club's manager, "the menu is adapted to the seasons, with recipes to suit the vegetables of the moment". So, on the menu you'll find big salads (and the adjective is not an understatement), caramelized burgers served with Cajun-spiced fries, hearty hot dogs, fresh buns topped with pastrami and crudités, gourmet croque-monsieur... Each dish is served with Cajun-spiced fries or salad: the choice is yours (although the home fries are well worth the detour!). For starters, don't miss the cheddar sticks, the restaurant's must-try finger food: delicious cheddar fritters served while still warm, accompanied by homemade ketchup. For those who don't eat meat or fish, vegetarian options are also available.

On the sweet side, we're sticking with some very (very) gourmet options and entirely homemade desserts, with a brioche perdue served with its scoop of ice cream and salted butter caramel, the decadent cookie bomb served just warm, the Apple Pie just caramelized... The Starving Club is an informal restaurant, a convivial address where people come spontaneously all week long, with or without children, with friends or lovers, for a snack or a lunch to share.

Expect to pay between €12 and €19 per dish, bearing in mind that the side dish - fries or salad - is included with most dishes (with the exception of the burger and hotdog, which can be purchased as a package for €4 more). For desserts, expect to pay between €7 and €8 per pastry - as mentioned, portions are really generous, so we recommend sharing, especially after a course!

In the 15th arrondissement, Starving Club's second address also has a terrace, open from April 1 each year. The Starving Club Haussmann is open every day from 9.30 a.m. to 9.30 p.m., except Sundays, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Enjoy your meal!
