Dreaming of a bibimbap or a Korean barbecue to warm your soul? There's no denying it, Korean restaurants are on a roll, and here's a list of good places to try for all lovers of kimchi, grilled meats and other typical dishes, whether classic or original.

Korean cuisine has been in Paris for many years now, to the delight of lovers of world cuisine, and Asian cuisine in particular. The star of Korean gastronomy, the Korean barbecue, has become a veritable phenomenon, providing gourmets with genuine moments of sharing with the whole table.

At the table, the chefs bring all the raw ingredients needed to prepare this comforting dish, then let you cook the meats and vegetables as you please on the electric barbecue in the middle of the table!

Bibimbap, bossam, japchae, jjamppong, fried chicken and bulgogi are all tasty, refined and well-balanced dishes, thanks to their pickled vegetables. All are accompanied by banchan, the traditional small plates of cold dishes, such as lotus roots, pickled radishes and a bowl of white rice, not forgetting the inevitable kimchi, the spicy fermented cabbage that is the basis of every good Korean meal.

The other star of Korean cuisine is, without doubt, bibimbap, a dish served in a hot bowl, in which vegetables, meat and egg cover a base of glutinous rice; the nutritious dish par excellence! But if bibimbap is popular in France, it's bossam that wins the day in South Korea: boiled pork cut into thin strips, eaten with kimchi, wrapped in a leaf of lettuce or blanched cabbage.

Recently, dakgalbis and other konjichus have taken over the web. These flowing cheese dishes are sure to seduce us. Some might say it's not Korean, but it is. Cheese and Korea have had a love affair ever since a Belgian immigrant decided to import and produce it locally around 1967.

If all this has made your mouth water, check out our top Korean restaurants in Paris!
